Good Morning Everyone!

Seems like Winter is getting one last lick in before we turn to Spring next week. “Springing forward” doesn’t seem to help me either!

I wanted to post about decluttering and Spring cleaning. It seems appropriate as one, I am moving and having to purge, declutter, combine two households of items (ours and my late parents’) all into a smaller home. Two, the March Joyful Jordan box is full of items to help do this.
In my opinion, as always, Nancy has hit a home run with March’s JJ box. What a steal! I mean deal! It contains Lemon Essential Oil Spray, Lemon Essential Oil Hand Sanitizer, and a Sparkling Lemonade Lip Tube plus an inspirational note from Nancy.

So why is this box of items so important for our Spring cleaning and decluttering of our space and mind?
In aromatherapy, Lemon essential oil has an amazingly wide range of uses. The lemon conjures up images of freshness, cleanliness, sunshine and lemonade.

Lemon especially brings a sense of warmth and fun. Lemon essential oil is beneficial in stimulating the mind, increasing concentration and increasing the ability to memorize. Helps with mental fatigue. Mental fatigue caused by those depressing thoughts which CLUTTER our mind.

University researchers in Japan found that diffusing lemon essential oil in an office environment dramatically improved mental accuracy and concentration.

Diffused Lemon essential oil resulted in 54 percent fewer errors. When diffused during test taking, scores increased by as much as 50 percent. In other research Lemon essential oil has shown to have antidepressant effects.

Research by Jean Valnet, M.D., showed that vaporized Lemon essential oil can kill meningococcus bacteria in 15 minutes, typhoid bacilli in one hour, staphylococcus aureus in two hours and germs causing pneumonia within three hours.
A 1995 Mie University study found that citrus fragrances boosted immunity, induced relaxation, and reduced depression. Lemon essential oil is an immune stimulant. It increases white blood cells, improves microcirculation and is antiseptic.

So get the March JJ box! Spray that Lemon Essential Oil around your work space! Mediate on the scripture Nancy included which is found in Philippians 4:13 – I CAN do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me. Jump out of Winter and into the Sonshine of Spring!

Below are some ways to use Lemon essential Oil:

1. Cleanses the air of smells. Lemons smell fresh and clean! Diffuse some lemon essential oil to rid your home of unpleasant odors.
2. Degreases dirty dishes. Add some lemon essential oil to your dish soap to cut the grease on those really dirty dishes.
Add a drop of Lemon essential oil to your dishwasher before the wash cycle.
3. Clean naturally. Make your own natural cleaner with water, lemon essential oil and a splash of white vinegar in a spray bottle. It works great as an all-purpose, chemical-free cleaner. Add 2-3 drops of Lemon essential oil to water and spray counter tops to sterilize them.
Rub a drop of Lemon essential oil to clean a butcher's block or other cutting surfaces.
Put 10-15 drops of Lemon essential oil in each gallon of carpet cleaning solution to help pull out stains and brighten the rug. This also leaves a fresh smell in the room.
Use 30 drops of Lemon essential oil in the washing machine instead of chlorine bleach.
4. Clean your microwave. Add water, a few drops of lemon essential oil and a splash of vinegar to a bowl. Microwave on high for five minutes. Let sit for a few minutes. Then remove the bowl and wipe out the microwave with a damp cloth. Stuck on food should just fall off and it will smell clean and fresh!
5. Polish your wood furniture. Make your own natural furniture polish with olive oil and lemon essential oil.
6. Kills aphids. Get rid of annoying aphids that feast on your plants with a mixture of lemon essential oil and water in a spray bottle. It also won’t hurt your plants.
7. Soften rough feet. Rub some lemon essential oil on your corns and calluses. Make a mixture of shea butter and lemon essential oil and rub on the soles of feet.
8. Wash fruit and veggies. Make your own fruit and veggie wash by adding some lemon essential oil to a bowl of water in your sink.
9. Combat odors in enclosed spaces. Add lemon essential oil to a cotton ball and put in a fridge, car, closet or any enclosed space that needs a little pick-me-up.
Use 6-12 drops of Lemon essential oil in a spray bottle mixed with distilled water to use in the bathroom as an air freshener.
10. Banish water spots. Add a little lemon essential oil to your dishwasher soap container to help get rid of those annoying water spots!
11. Clean a sticky mess. Make your own natural Goo-gone by using lemon essential oil on a sticky mess like gum in your hair or leftover bandage adhesive.
12. Freshen smelly dishcloths. Add some lemon essential oil to your detergent and soak your dishcloths overnight. Then wash and dry like normal. It will get rid of that lingering rotten smell that never seems to go away!
<![CDATA[Sweet Dreams]]>Wed, 15 Mar 2017 17:29:33 GMThttp://rxstamper.com/blog/sweet-dreams7621199Picture

When you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. Proverbs 3:24b

Did you sleep well last night? No? Well you are not alone. Between 33 to 58 percent of US adults experience occasional insomnia. WOW! Half of us aren't sleeping! Nine to 17% of us experience chronic insomnia meaning it is every night. How is Insomnia defined you ask? It is the inability to initiate or maintain sleep.

Sleep deprivation can cause all sorts of health problems like weight gain, high blood pressure, and forgetfulness - to name a few. Check out Health Benefits of Sleeping and How Far They Reach by Candace Osmond on The Sleep Judge.

So you tell me I can't sleep that long. I just lay there in bed. What's the big deal if I don't get enough sleep? Well, studies show insomniacs work performance at home and work is significantly impaired. Insomniacs function at a sub-optimal level. Insomniacs have higher rates of accidents or injuries.

What causes insomnia? Certain medications, certain medical conditions like chronic pain or breathing difficulties, and certain psychiatric problems like depression or anxiety can all cause insomnia.

Why talk to a doctor, I'll just treat myself. More than 40% of those suffering from insomnia self-medicate with over-the-counter (OTC) medications or with other substances such as alcohol. Over the counter products, such as diphenhydramine which is the active ingredient in most OTC sleep aids , should only be used temporarily and can have possible adverse effects with certain medications and conditions. Alcohol should never be used to help you go to sleep.

What can you do besides taking medication (which I only suggest again for temporary use)? Non medication options play an important part in the management of insomnia. It is far better and has a more lasting effect on insomnia than a short-term course of medication, because the gains made with medication erode once it is discontinued.

Behavioral Therapies for Insomnia or what is called Sleep Hygiene include:

* Exercise Regularly during the day, but not close to bedtime.
* Reduce intake of alcohol, nicotine, and caffeine.
* Avoid intake of copious amounts of fluids close to bedtime.
* Create a comfortable sleep environment.
* Avoid going to bed when too full or too hungry.
* Establish and adhere to a regular sleep schedule.
* Sleep only enough to feel refreshed.
* Use/associate bed only with intimacy and sleep.
* Avoid attempting to force sleep.
* Avoid daytime naps.
* Use Essential Oils like Lavender.

I hope these tips help and email me if you have any questions. Thank you for stopping in and sweet dreams!

<![CDATA[Love a Tree Day!]]>Fri, 16 May 2014 10:16:34 GMThttp://rxstamper.com/blog/love-a-tree-day
"May 16th is Love a Tree Day! They give us shade, shelter and oxygen. When planted near your home, they can reduce heating and cooling costs. When planted near streets, trees can be used to cut down noise and reduce glare and reflection. What's not to love? Go hug a tree!
Tree Facts:

*A single tree produces approximately 260 pounds of oxygen per year (about enough for two people).
*One tree can absorb as much carbon in a year as a car produces while driving 26,000 miles.
*The average tree in a metropolitan area will survive about eight years.
*Oak trees are struck by lightning more than any other tree.
*It takes 40,000 trees to make enough Louisville Slugger bats for one baseball season.
*The world's tallest tree is a 369-foot-tall redwood in California.
*The world's oldest tree is a 9,550-year-old spruce in Sweden.
*About one third of the United States of America is covered by forests.
Dendrophobia - intense fear of trees." Really???

The preceding fun facts and info comes from:

This card comes from Linda Wiese. I received it as a swap last convention. I love the simplicity of it all. I'm glad Stampin' Up! kept Lovely as a Tree around for another year.

Thank you all for stopping by and have a wonderful Friday and weekend!
